“Sharing Your Vision”

(February 23, 2011, from 6:15 p.m.–8:30 p.m., Venue: TBD)

The photocomposition workshop has been rescheduled to the above date. Two major subject areas will be covered:

  • increasing your visual photographic potential and sensitivity — a discussion on training ourselves to be alert to the usual and familiar things yet seeing them anew by keying-in to our own emotional response and allowing it to be translated in our pictures; and
  • composition techniques to render the image that expresses this emotional response. Common composition techniques will be discussed, but the intent is not to provide you with a cookbook of composition recipes but to provide the necessary tools and ingredients for you to develop and express your own photographic style.

A small photo assignment will be given to each participant at the end of the session and each participant will be asked to present 10–15 pictures taken as part of their assignment using the material covered. This session will be held no later than March 23, 2011 and the date and location will be finalized to optimize participation.

The fee is $30 for IPS Members and $60 for Non-Members (includes membership fee). The session will be limited to 15 participants, on a first come basis.

If you wish to attend, please email Richard at RQuesnel@WorldBank.org, by no later than Tuesday, February 15.
