SUMMARY:IPS Workshop: Lightroom with Corey Hilz
DESCRIPTION:Learn how to use Lightroom to be in control of your digital workflow. This workshop is designed to make Lightroom easy to understand and put you in control of all it has to offer. It will cover your workflow from beginning to end: from importing and organizing to adjusting\, sharing and exporting your images. Find out how to choose which adjustments to make\, and in what order. We will spend most of our time in the Library and Develop modules. \n\nFormat: Three\, two-hour sessions held at the IMF\nTime: 6:30-8:30pm\nDate: January 21\, 25 and 26\, 2016\nCost: $60 for IPS members; $100 for non-IPS members.\nNumber of Participants: Maximum 20\nVenue: Venue details will be sent to the participants\nSkill Level: Beginner\, Intermediate \n\nThe workshop’s non-refundable fees are due by January 5\, 2016 to secure a spot in the workshop (check to IPS to be sent to Treasurer Aung Win\, IMF HQ2-7-219). \nAttendance will be capped at 20 participants\, first-come\, first served. Please send Michele Egan (michele@micheleegan.com)  an email to register. \n\nTopics include: \n\nLightroom’s place in your digital workflow\nUnderstanding Lightroom catalog\nImporting images\nRenaming images\nImportant preferences and catalog settings\nAdding metadata and keywords\nOrganizing and ranking using stars\, labels and flags\nSorting and filtering images\nCollections and Smart Collections\nTemplates and presets\nTonal adjustments\nModifying white balance\nRecovering highlight and shadow detail\nTargeted color adjustments\nApplying adjustments selectively\nUsing a graduated filter\nRetouching tools\nRemoving chromatic aberration\nCorrecting distortion\nNoise reduction\nSharpening\nProcessing multiple files\nUsing Lightroom with another image editor such as Photoshop\nExporting images in other file formats and sizes\n\nParticipants are encouraged to bring a laptop with Lightroom installed so you can practice while the techniques are being demonstrated (practice images will be provided). Even if you don’t have a laptop\, much can be gained by attending the workshop and observing the features and how the tools are used. \n\nAfter the workshop all attendees will be sent a link to download a color pdf handout with step-by-step instructions\, screenshots\, and notes on the topics covered in the workshop.
