At times his work has been driven by a specific objective\, such as exploring the carved stonework of a cathedral\, or composing a color abstraction from juxtaposing shapes and reflective light. In other instances he allows intuition and chance to guide him as he responds to the surrounding environment. The unifying thread is his eye for formal composition and a flair for visual drama.\nBlake is a Strauss Fellow\, juried member of the Torpedo Factory Artists Association\, past member of Multiple Exposures Gallery\, and current board member of Photoworks. \n
