DESCRIPTION:EIC Theme: Simple \nImages that are simple in construct or convey a simple theme \nGuest Speaker: Blake Stenning – A Photographer’s Journey \nBlake Stenning a fine art photographer who continually experiments with new ways to express his creative vision. At times his work has been driven by a specific objective\, such as exploring the carved stonework of a cathedral\, or composing a color abstraction from juxtaposing shapes and reflective light. In other instances he allows intuition and chance to guide him as he responds to the surrounding environment. The unifying thread is his eye for formal composition and a flair for visual drama.\nBlake is a Strauss Fellow\, juried member of the Torpedo Factory Artists Association\, past member of Multiple Exposures Gallery\, and current board member of Photoworks. \n

SUMMARY:IPS Monthly Meeting – 16 March
DESCRIPTION:EIC Theme: Color \nGuest Speaker: Victoria Restrepo \nSPEAKER’S BIO: \nVictoria is an accomplished professional photographer as well as an artist\, with over 30 years of experience; she specializes in fine art\, nature and travel photography. She studied fine arts in Colombia and photography at The New England School of Photography\, in Boston. She has worked as a Commercial Photographer and as a photography and Photoshop teacher. \nShe was born in Colombia\, South America\, a magical place where mountains\, gigantic rivers\, deserts and rainforests run into the oceans. This fierce nature and the vibrant colors from her native Country are always present in her work. She works with light\, her imagination and her own memories creating imaginary still lifes and landscapes\, mixing photography\, painting\, and digital art. \nPhotography has always been around her. Her grandfather\, her great-grandfather and her great-great-grandfather were some of the earliest photographers in South America and the Caribbean. The smell of the photographic chemicals\, and the magical darkness of her family lab marked her life forever. \nVictoria speaks at camera clubs\, judges photographic competitions\, teaches photography and Photoshop\, and has an art studio for children.
