His documentary work on the underground music scene in Washington\, D.C.\, was published as a book\, Suspect Device\, by Empty Stretch in 2014 and was a featured exhibit at the Kolga Tblisi Photo Festival 2015 in Tblisi\, Georgia. She has taught at the Park School of Communications at Ithaca College\, and Virginia Commonwealth University prior to teaching at the Corcoran College of Art and Design. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Fine Art Photography at the Corcoran School of Art at The George Washington University. \nProfessor Sakai’s research consists of the exploration and examination of the landscape in the photographic medium. Next\, there will be a presentation of before and after (post-processing “in-camera”) images\, followed by an exploration of basic compositional techniques using your camera phone and third-party image editing apps. Emphasis will not be on the latest iPhone or hottest new app\, but instead will concentrate on the most important piece of equipment… the participant’s own aesthetic sensibility. The remainder of Day 1 will be spent looking at and analyzing camera phone images. \nDay 2 \nPlease bring 7–10 JPGs on a flash drive of photographs that you made using a camera phone and processed with image editing apps using some techniques covered in Day 1.
